On to the Next TV Addiction!!

December 2nd, 2010 by adrienne

I have actively fought off a lot of TV addictions. I did not watch 24, Arrested Development or Sex in the City, I was cured of Idolmania by the time Jordan Sparks won. But I have been known to dabble in Dancing With the Stars. I do not know if it is the costumes or the possibility of a fall or face plant that keeps me tuned in but I was a loyal watcher. Although this season was predictable: we all knew Jennifer Gray would win. I was delighted to see Kyle Massey jiggle all over that dance floor and shocked with every week Bristol Palin stayed on the show. Really people? You really voted for her??? But just as I was gaining two hours back in my week you added Skating with the Stars!!

OK ABC/Disney this is fantastic it is Disney on Ice for Grown-ups. Thanks for throwing in the kid from ‘Sonny with a Chance’ so I can make the kids watch with me. This is really great I do not have to wait for the winter olympics for my ice dreams.  If a rocker like Vince Neil can put on spandex and glide effortlessly on ice I know I can. Although I am sure I will see a fall every episode it is more fun rooting for them to skate flawlessly!!

It was great too to see my three year old gliding around the living room trying to ice dance…she will love it when I take her to see Disney on Ice this Holiday season. Disney on Ice is touring their show “Lets’s Celebrate” this holiday season. It follows Mickey and Minnie celebrating the holidays with Disney friends we are talking  Woody and Buzz, Alice and the Mad Hatter, my favorite Tianna and much much more. Check out their website: http://disney.go.com/disneyonice/. Here is a discount code for Mom’s: Get your tickets at www.ticketmaster.com and use the code MOM you will get a family 4 pack of  tickets for $48.  Hey that leaves you enough money to get all the kids one of those light up toys in the lobby!!! Beauty for a Cure-Joico

September 26th, 2010 by adrienne

Isn’t it great when our must have products can also give HOPE when we purchase them? Oh yes it is!! October is rolling in so pink products are popping up all over to give hope and ‘raise’ money for Breast Cancer Research. But BUYER BEWARE! Please do your homework; be sure the products you purchase will make a donation to Breast Cancer Research. Any company can stick a pink ribbon on the box or color their items pink to sell in October but you need to be sure they make a donation to a legitimate foundation, hospital or ailing individual.

I am endorsing the Joico Brand Products to purchase during the 2010 Breast Cancer Awareness month to support many different organizations, including City of Hope, to fund research and raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer and all women’s health concerns. For 2010 Joico has created a limited “pink” edition of its new K-PAK ReconstRx Vapor Iron to honor a Joico advisor Christina Amato-Smith a stylist/salon owner in New York who bravely fought cancer and has been cancer free since 2009. The K-PAK is also called “Tools to Inspire” it features the revolutionary new VaporIron, a 3.4-oz. VaporFuel refill, styling brochure and DVD featuring Joico International Artistic Director Damien Carney.

“Christina is a wife, mother and beauty professional who touches so many people each day,” says Joico Marketing Manager Korrie Gutierrez. “After extensive treatment for cancer, she got the ‘all clear’ in 2009. Her courage and triumph made this disease very personal to all of us at Joico, and we are inspired by Christina to work as hard as possible to raise funds and awareness to eradicate breast cancer once and for all.”

Joico will donate  $12,500 to City of Hope,a pioneering national patient care and research center that has long been the beauty industry’s beneficiary of choice, through the sales of:

* K-PAK Reconstruct Vapor Iron for a Cure * JoiMist Firm Sprays * K-PAK Reconstruct for a Cure packs (K-PAK Reconstructor and K-PAK Color Therapy Restorative Styling Oil)

Joico is a company that  support breast cancer and womans health not only during the month of October but throughout the entire year. This company continues to support not only the woman who purchase their products by making the best products available for use but by making financial donations to the causes we believe in. Such as Camp Daisy for special needs children in New Jersey, The Micheal J. Fox Foundation, Reality Cares foundation and many more.

Please go to http://www.joico.com/salon to find a Joico Salon near you to purchase these products.  For more product information visit: http://www.joico.com/products/Limited%20Edition/beauty-for-a-cure

About Mika Fowler: Mika Fowler transcended the world of hair styling and entered celebrity status when she began sculpting the tresses of Tinsel-town’s elite. With an ingrained sense of style and a pair of sheers, its undoubtedly Mika’s cosmetology creations that have earned her the well deserved position as Gavert Atelier’s style director. Her specialty: the “dry cut”… is described as cutting the hair after it is blow dryed as opposed to when it is wet. As free-spirited as she is, her dedication to precision is what makes this particular cut her signature craft.
