Aveda Green Science Lifting Serum (love!)

April 18th, 2011 by lila

Hello, again pretties! I apologize for the unexpected hiatus, but I promise you, it was well worth it. I have tons of fabulous products to share. It won’t be as regular as before, but I promise to drop a line when I can.

The first is the new Aveda Green Science Lifting Serum. Unlike some serums this is not sticky, tacky or thick. It wears wonderfully under make up.

According to the Aveda website, this serum “helps skin boost its natural collagen production for a more lifted appearance.”

I can’t say it has lifted my appearance, but I can say it is a lovely moisturizer.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation (love!)

April 14th, 2011 by lila

I was ready to upgrade from my favorite tinted moisturizer. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation came highly recommended from a friend and I thought, well, it is at Walgreen’s and is less than $10, what’s to lose?

The answer is nothing. This whipped foundation is smooth and easy to blend. It tames my red cheeks and hides little imperfections. It leaves a powdered finished look.

If you’re looking for a little more coverage than your tinted moisturizer provides, but aren’t ready to go to a traditional liquid foundation, give Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation a try.

Stila “Make an Impression in Moscow” Travel Palette (love!)

April 11th, 2011 by lila

This little palette packs a punch! Not only does it save room in my make up bag, but it creates a fantastic look.

I picked this up for a mere $10 at Sephora a few month ago, but only recently broke the seal and tried it. Love at first brush!

The colors are flattering and easily mixed and matched. The blush is subtle but it makes my cheeks pop.

If you can find this or any of the other Stila Travel Palettes pick them up, you won’t regret it!

Burt’s Bees Hand Salve (love!)

September 15th, 2010 by lila

Like the Coconut Foot Cream from Burt’s Bees, this is also very thick and sticky. Again with a pair of gloves and applied right before bed, it works miracles.

Some people find the scent overwhelming, but I love it. The right amount of natural aromas.

They’re not lying, when they say this salve is Burt’s Bees “most intensive hand treatment, this formula is packed with botanical oils, herbs and beeswax to moisturize hard working, rough, dry hands. It’s an everyday miracle.”

Origins A Perfect World Antioxidant cleanser with White Tea (love!)

September 13th, 2010 by lila

This is my go to travel face wash. If only it came in travel sizes!

It foams nicely and rinses away clean. It doesn’t leave my skin tight or irritated. And it removes all my make up in one sweep.

The fragrance is amazing.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (love!)

September 10th, 2010 by lila

This is hands down, the most wonderful Tinted Moisturizer I’ve ever tried. The SPF 20 is what really won me over.

It adds just enough color and with my favorite Origins foundation brush, just enough coverage.

If the slurry of awards doesn’t win you over, I suggest you head over to your nearest Sephora and try it out yourself.

Fresh High Noon Freshface Glow (love!)

September 8th, 2010 by lila

A little of this on the apples of my cheeks lets me continue my summer glow into the fall even though it is fading.

I can blend it into my foundation for an all over glow, but it is unnecessary. A little goes a long way.

Fresh High Noon Freshface Glow is a “sheer easy-to-blend illuminating liquid bronzer that plumps the skin, camouflages small imperfections and imparts a natural-looking radiance. Packed with powerful antioxidants, anti-irritants, and anti-inflammatory ingredients, this skin-loving bronzer will make your complexion feel as healthy as it’ll look. Just one shade fits all skin tones so it’s impossible to go wrong.”

Overall, AMAZING!

Origins Youthtopia Firming Eye Cream (like)

September 6th, 2010 by lila

This is a bit thick for my liking. It also clumps a little under my regular foundation.

But it is moisturizing.

I haven’t used it enough to see the claimed results, but they sound realistic.

According to the website, Youthtopia Firming Eye Cream will “visibly de-age, reduce puffiness and help empower fragile eye skin to rebound from damaging stress. Your eye area looks firmer and more youthful with none of the potential wrinkles.”

Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Cream (love!)

September 3rd, 2010 by lila

I look for the most moisturizing, pampering foot cream that works quickly.

Initially, this is a bit sticky and greasy, but apply before bed throw on an old pair of socks and you’ll wake up with wonderfully soft feet.

The main ingredients, “coconut oil, lanolin and vegetable glycerin to revive and rejuvenate even the driest, most neglected feet. There’s also a hint of natural rosemary and peppermint oils to refresh tired feet.”

N.Y.C. New York Color Lengthening Mascara (like)

June 28th, 2010 by lila

I had a mascara meltdown this weekend. You know the little part that wipes the brush as you pull the wand out of the tube? Mine fell apart leaving me with a wand too full of mascara to use.

I tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked. In a desperate need to finish getting ready to meet some friends, I dashed to Wal Mart. Needed to get in and out quickly, I ran down the first make up isle. There on the end was N.Y.C. New York Color Lengthening Mascara in black. Thinking it was fate, I grabbed it and went to the nearest checkout line.

For about $2, I got some mascara that works in a pinch. It isn’t perfect and it doesn’t last as long or keep from flaking like the better brands, but worked and I couldn’t be more thankful.

So bottom line, if you are in a hurry and need a mascara to get you through, N.Y.C. New York Color Lengthening Mascara does the job.
