Origins Clear Improvement (love!)

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

I love a good facial. There’s just something about going to a spa and having someone paint a mask and cleanser on my face while I relax and breath in amazingly relaxing aromas that is pretty blissful.

I don’t always have time to get to a spa. While, sad, and less relaxing, I’ve learned how to get the same deep cleaning and moisturizing at home.

The mask of choice for me is the Origins Clear Improvement. I can paint it on as thick or as thin as I wast. The thicker the more time it takes to dry and the longer I have to sit still. The thinner and it is just enough to watch a half hour tv show.

As the mask dries, it tightens my face. It feels great. That’s how I know the active charcoal is working.

As the Origins website will tell you this mask is for “when environmental toxins, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy.”

This mask is “nature’s complexion clean-up crew.” It “gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities.”

It’s amazing. You have to try it for yourself.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple (love!)

There is a good reason this product was named a winner by QVC, Sephora and Allure Magazine (among others!) it is amazing.

The website says, this product is for you, if:
“you’ve tried a lot of cleansers but never found one you loved
you crave deeply cleansed skin
you want a cleanser that will multi-task for you
you wear a lot of makeup
your skin is congested”

I’ve tried a million cleansers and not yet found one I loved. Until this one. I went to the Skincare Challenge at Sephora and they gave me a generous sample. After a week, I noticed a genuine difference in my skin. It seemed more supple, brighter and just overall healthier.

I love that this is one step and you are done. The smell is pleasant, not over powering and a little goes a long way. It feels like a facial every night.

Additionally, this amazing product is available in a great travel approved size in the check out line at Sephora for just $10! How could you go wrong!

I can’t recommend this product enough. I am tossing out all the other soaps, cleansers and make up removers.

Epsom Salts (love!)

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

All right Pretties, let me tell you a little secret: To have an amazing soak add a cup or two of plain, old, regular Epsom Salts to the water with your bubble bath potion of choice. It leaves my skin feeling soft and ready to absorb my favorite post bath lotion.

I’ve heard Epsom Salts cure everything from bruises to detoxifying your body. Supposedly, they are an odor neutralizer and skin exfoliator (when used on dry or damp skin). These all may be true, but I just love how it makes my skin feel.

If you’re feeling adventurous, get some scented with essential oil Epsom Salts (available at just about any Target, Wal-Mart or drug store). I find these salts hold scent much longer than any bubble bath.
