Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips (love!)

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

I’ve been using Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips since middle school. I love them.

The package claims these strips “instantly remove pore-clogging dirt, oil and blackheads” and “help reduce the appearance of pores with regular use.”

I know by looking at the back of one of the strips after I’ve used it, just how much gunk it took out of my skin.

If I use these strips too much, my sensitive skin does get irritated and if I leave one on too long, the sticky stuff does stick to my nose, but a quick swipe of a witch hazel soaked cotton ball does the trick.

I usually use them once a month or so at night, after I’ve washed my face to avoid extra irritation. The package says to use only every three days.

Aveda Air Control Hair Spray (love!)

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

This is the only hair spray I use. I use it when I straighten my hair, I use it when I leave it curly and when I pull it up.

Aveda Air Control Hair Spray tames fly-aways and sets my style without making it sticky, even mid-run. It washes out easily and doesn’t leave behind any residue.

I get more compliments on the scent of this hair spray than I do several perfumes I wear regularly. While some might call it strong and in the summer it is a bit stronger than in the winter, I find it to be refreshing and great smelling.

I keep a travel size version in my purse that I bought at the nearest Aveda salon. A little goes a long way and that bottle has lasted several months.

Pencil Me In Eyeliner in Sky (love!)

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Why it took so long for eyeliner creators to think of putting a sharpener in the cap, I don’t know. But I do know, I love the concept and can’t get enough of Pencil Me In’s Eyeliner in sky.

My dear, reliable Shape Magazine told me that blue eyeliner is in and light blue is even more in. I now understand why! It makes my eyes pop.

This eyeliner goes on smooth and doesn’t pull at all.

According to the website, all Pencil Me In shades were “custom created to be unique and not replicate the ordinary shades in the market place.” Not to mention all the shades contain “anti-oxidants and vitamins which help to protect the eye area from daily exposure to destructive elements.”

Unlike other eyeliners, this doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. No itching!

Pure Aloe Vera Gel (love!)

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

On my beach vacation. I got stung by a bee. Not speaking the language, I was able to communicate enough to say I need something to stop the burning.

Little did I know what they gave me was liquid gold. The purest aloe gel I’ve ever seen. It stopped the burning.

And it did more. When I got a bit to much sun, it soothed and took away the redness. In fact, I didn’t touch my much pricier moisturizer the rest of the trip. This aloe gel did more for my skin in a week than the moisturizer I’ve been using did in a month.

Now the only problem is finding the pure aloe gel stateside. Growing the plants seem to take forever, anyone have a better suggestion?

Origins Clear Improvement (love!)

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

I love a good facial. There’s just something about going to a spa and having someone paint a mask and cleanser on my face while I relax and breath in amazingly relaxing aromas that is pretty blissful.

I don’t always have time to get to a spa. While, sad, and less relaxing, I’ve learned how to get the same deep cleaning and moisturizing at home.

The mask of choice for me is the Origins Clear Improvement. I can paint it on as thick or as thin as I wast. The thicker the more time it takes to dry and the longer I have to sit still. The thinner and it is just enough to watch a half hour tv show.

As the mask dries, it tightens my face. It feels great. That’s how I know the active charcoal is working.

As the Origins website will tell you this mask is for “when environmental toxins, dirt and debris get under your skin, its waste-filtering system gets jammed, pores get clogged, skin looks cloudy.”

This mask is “nature’s complexion clean-up crew.” It “gets to the bottom of skins overcast condition and clears the way for it to act its best. Activated Charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers, White China Clay absorbs environmental toxins, Lecithin dissolves impurities.”

It’s amazing. You have to try it for yourself.

Lush The Blonde (love!)

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I’ve been all about trying new shampoos lately. I promise to provide a full run down, but since I don’t want to bore you with all shampoo all the time, I’ll try to keep it to just a couple per week.

I love this amazingly natural shampoo bar from Lush. It lathers very well for a solid shampoo and leaves my hair shiny and silky. I don’t always use a conditioner when I shampoo with the Blonde!

The website and any Lush store employee will tell you how completely natural this product is. In fact, it is so natural and environment friendly, it received Lush’s Vegan stamp. Which means, “this product does not contain animal products of any kind.”

Lush promises the Blonde is for every tow head. “A beautiful, creamy soft shampoo to gently cleanse and slowly lighten; the Blonde is for natural blondes who want to be blonder and bottle blondes who want to look like natural blondes. Chamomile infusion and flowers lighten the hair and soothe the scalp so we put scoops of that in. Then we add lemon, mandarin and orange to cleanse and brighten dull locks. Go from bland to blonde by washing with this daily.”

I particularly enjoy using it on vacation. I’ve found it’s quite like a natural, less damaging version of Sun In!

E.L.F. Professional Eye Shadow Brush (love!)

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

I’ve been searching for a good eye shadow brush for some time. The last time I was at the grocery store, on a whim, I picked up the E.L.F. Professional Eye Shadow Brush.

I thought to myself, it’s a $1. If I love it, then I saved a ton of money and if I hate it, it is a candy bar I didn’t eat.

Luckily, I loved it. It holds and deposits color extremely well. The brush is the right size and angle.

If you can find this product, I highly recommend picking at least one up. I will be buying more soon!

Mary Kay Lip Coloring Crayon (help!)

Monday, May 17th, 2010

All right, pretties, this is a request for help.

I love, love, love this lip coloring crayon in classy. A sort of purple-ish color that looks amazing on me. It highlights my fair skin and brings out my eyes. Seriously.

I am aware this crayon was discontinued ages ago. (I only recently discovered it in an old Caboodle from who knows how long ago… Remember those?)

I do like the crayon set up. It is super easy to use. I can use it as a liner and a lipstick. It stains just the right amount and a little gloss over it makes it amazing.

Here’s where you lovelies come in. I want something like this. In this color, or close. Any suggestions?

Bull Frog Ultimate Sheer Protection Sunblock, SPF 30 (love!)

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

I run, a lot. With my fair skin, I can’t go for a run without sunscreen. Ever.

But I hate it when the sunscreen drips down my face and into my eyes. I especially hate it when it drips and I end up with a streaky sunburn, that is not pretty. Or healthy.

I’ve tried lots of sunscreens, but this one is the best I’ve found. As long as I put it on about a half hour before a run, it absorbs into my skin and doesn’t drip down my face.

I’m excited to continue using Bull Frog Ultimate Sheer Protection Sunblock throughout the summer to see if it holds up to my expectations. This spring it has not disappointed me.

Sephora Lash Plumper Mascara (love!)

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Last week, I told you I don’t wear mascara every day. And the last mascara I was in love with was Maybelline’s Lash Stiletto, but I’ve found a mascara I love even more.

I wore this alone (no liner, no eyeshadow) to work the other day because I was in a rush. I didn’t think anything about it until a co-worker complimented me by saying my lashes looked extra long. I was ecstatic!

Some mascaras you have to coat and coat your lashes. With Sephora’s Lash Plumper, three swipes and a double check and I’m done. It’s so easy.

According tho the Sephora website, this volumizing mascara will, “Fatten your flutter with this lash-plumping formula. The larger brush, with slightly tapered edges, reaches from root to tip, for truly bat-worthy volume and glamour. ”

I might actually start wearing mascara every day.
