E.L.F. Professional Eye Shadow Brush (love!)

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

I’ve been searching for a good eye shadow brush for some time. The last time I was at the grocery store, on a whim, I picked up the E.L.F. Professional Eye Shadow Brush.

I thought to myself, it’s a $1. If I love it, then I saved a ton of money and if I hate it, it is a candy bar I didn’t eat.

Luckily, I loved it. It holds and deposits color extremely well. The brush is the right size and angle.

If you can find this product, I highly recommend picking at least one up. I will be buying more soon!

Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadow (love!)

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Wanting to mix things up a bit for a dressy event recently, I pulled out my Aspen Summit (silvery white shimmer). I used it over a pink and brown I’d already applied. It added some serious pop, that even I wasn’t expecting.

It’s shimmery without being high school glittery. I promise. When used with a light hand it is subtle.

In the photos from the event, I noticed my eyes were bluer and brighter and somehow seemed even more open.

The color is rich and a little goes a long way. I use an eyeshadow brush and blend, blend, blend.

Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadow can also be used wet for a more intense look.

Christian Dior 2 Couleurs 2-Colour Eyeshadow Wet and Dry (like)

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

OK, I won’t lie. I didn’t know I could use this shadow wet. So this review is only for the dry portion. I will update it with details on using it wet.

Overall, I like this product. I don’t love love it. The pigment is intense and not appropriate for all situations, if you wear it to the grocery store in the morning, people might look at you funny. As for the pinks, it’s a little much for work if I use too much of the dark pink, but it does blend exceptionally well.

To me, the pink looks like spring. The colors are rich and go on smooth as promised. I would recommend finding a palate you like and trying it at the store. The shadows are super long wearing and really last. I use my own eye shadow brush and not the small ones that come in the compact.

p.s. the color I am currently using is 855 Diorsweet. Enjoy!

Too Faced Second Base Anti Crease Shadow Base Matte (love!)

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I never wear eye shadow without this underneath. Ever. It keeps my shadow locked in place through an entire work day and some times even though a Body Combat class.

It goes on smooth and a little goes a long way.

There are two options, “First Base imparts a luminous glow and sheen to eyes with an opalescent shimmer hue while Second Base creates the perfect matte canvas.” I prefer second base because some of my shadows are shimmery already and don’t need extra.

In addition to sticking my shadow to my lids for the entire day, according to the Too Faced website, I”m doing my lids some good.

Too Faced Eyeshadow bases “soothe, protect and condition with the added benefit of keeping eye shadows in place. Infused with a botanical blend of essential oils and vitamins.”

What more could you want?

Stila Convertible Eye Color (love!)

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

I own this fantastic product in Ivy. The color is a little darker green than indicated and couldn’t be more flattering to my baby blues.

The eyeliner is super easy to use. It glides across my lids and has never broken. The tip is small enough for under eye lining and yet thick enough for a defining line up top.

The shadow end isn’t stingy! A simple twist deposits enough shadow for one lid, no double dipping required!

My second favorite thing about this product is that I can easily travel with it. I don’t have to worry about my eye shadow getting broken, cracked or covering the inside of my make up bag. It’s so travel friendly!

Combined with my favorite eye shadow primer (more to come on that great find!) this product lasts all day, even though a cardio class! Love it!

Stila Eye Shadow in Shore (love!)

Friday, March 19th, 2010

I love, love, love this shadow. I’ve had this color forever and it never dissappoints!

I wear it dry for some sublte grey shimmer during the day and wet at night for a great, super easy smokey eye. According to the Stila website, the official color of shore is “a blue-gray shade with a shimmery finish.”

I’ve shared this with friends and have yet to find someone it does not look amazing on. Alone or with a black or grey eyeliner this long wearing shadow is a must have in your make up bag!
