I’m Christina, and hair is my obsession. My interest in hair began as a child; I received a Barbie Mannequin head as a gift and the rest is history! Throughout my childhood I practiced my craft by braiding and styling my friends’ hair. My future was inevitable—I was destined to be a hair stylist. I began my career at Martin School of Hair Design in Milwaukee. After much hard work and dedication, I am now a level three stylist at Capricio Salon and Spa. I genuinely love going to work every day, and making my guests happy is what motivates me to succeed.
Working as a professional stylist and makeup artist at Capricio Salon and Spa has given me endless opportunities to build my skills and meet outstanding people. Over the past three years I’ve attended numerous Advanced Color and Cutting classes in and around the Milwaukee area. Similarly, I’ve traveled to Las Vegas twice and New York once to attend the Redken Symposium and Redken Exchange. In August 2010 I’ll be attending the Redken Exchange in New York in order to become Redken Color Certified—a feat not accomplished by many stylists. My work has also been featured in local fashion shows, photo shoots, film work, and 4PM Magazine. In 2009, I took home First Place in Reliable Salon Resource Group’s “Color Your World” competition. I am constantly researching new techniques online, in books, in movies, on the street, at hair shows, and through other stylists in an attempt to move forward with my career and get my name out to the public. This year, I hope to enter (and win!) the North American Hairstyling Awards Competition. My future career goals include becoming a Redken Platform Artist and Educator and to have my work featured in big name magazines, films, and fashion shows around the world.

I am skilled in clip-in extensions, avant garde hair and makeup, bridal looks, Keratin and Japanese Relaxers, creative colors, precision haircuts, and eyebrow shaping. I have worked with all hair textures, enjoy doing color corrections, and can match any picture a client brings me. Our bridal service begins with a thorough consultation, discussing with you all of your ideas, thoughts and aspects of your wedding. We recommend this visit should be at least six months before the wedding day. We will also discuss whether you have any ideas of wearing any accessories such as tiaras, a veil, flowers or barrette. Whenever we use flowers in a bridal design you can be sure they are real and bursting with vibrant colors.
To achieve your desired look, you may require other services ahead of your big day. This may include extensions, airbrush tanning or color and cut. In these instances, we can draw up a pre-wedding hair plan to ensure your hair is healthy, glossy and vibrant in plenty of time for your wedding.
It is always a good idea to try out the style you have chosen ahead of the big day. This will last between one and three hours depending on whether you wish the bridesmaids to be involved.
It’s beneficial to have a trial run, as it instantly removes one of the biggest causes of stress on your wedding day. Additional trial runs can also be arranged if you wish.
We would be more than happy to come to your home, hotel, or venue of your choice if you prefer to have your hair styled outside of the salon. My Name is Munem, and I’ve been a hairstylist for more than 18 years. Throughout my 18 year experience I have accomplished many things, I am the salon owner and manager of Capricio Salon & Spa, a Redken Elite 5th Avenue Salon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Munem cuts, styles, and colors with an experienced eye for detail. He utilizes diverse methods and unique dexterity with each one of his clients. Munem can produce soft styles with scissors and can create additional textures with shears and razors. He is an expert in Threading Hair Removal, And have his own THREADING educational DVD! which is an ancient method of hair removal. Exfoliation: Does Pain Equal Gain?
Thursday, December 2nd, 2010Skin-savvy females who desire radiant skin can tend to overdo skin polishing, making over-exfoliation one of the most common “skin-mishaps” professionals see among consumers today. This extreme resurfacing can result in a compromised skin lipid barrier, sensitization, inflammation and accelerated aging – not to mention an increased susceptibility to UV damage.
Signs of over-exfoliated skin include:
•noticeable dehydration
•dry, patchy areas
•redness and itchiness
•increased sensitivity
To help clients recover from over-exfoliation that triggers skin inflammation and protective lipid barrier breakdown, prescribe Dermalogica’s UltraCalming™ system. Prescribing Exfoliants for Your Clients
Before prescribing an at-home exfoliant or performing resurfacing in the treatment room, complete a thorough, zone-by-zone skin analysis to reveal your client’s skin condition.
For oily/breakout-prone skin: Choose non-abrasive Hydroxy Acid exfoliants gently dissolve dead cells while delivering purifying, oil-absorbing benefits. Salicylic Acid, clays, Sulfur and soothing Lavender and Aloe are friends to your skin. Steer clear of physical scrubs (think grains and beads) that can aggravate and further inflame breakouts. The International Dermal Institute recommends scrubs made of finely granulated Corn Cob Meal, as found in Dermalogica’s Skin Prep Scrub.
For sensitive skin: Choose gentle, superfine powders that activate with water.
