Kayla

My name is Kayla, and I’ve been dreaming of my career as a hairstylist since childhood. I began practicing my skills on myself, dolls, and ever-faithful friends. During high school, I was the “one to call” for proms, dances, and special event hair. I enjoyed creating individualized looks and trying new techniques. I realized that I had a great love of art, and I desperately wanted to translate that passion into hair. Soon after graduation I began my education at the Aveda Institute of Beauty and Wellness in Milwaukee. I am currently a level one stylist at Capricio Salon and Spa.
During my educational career at Aveda, I was privileged enough to be able to work with genius hair designers including Vivienne Mackinder, Ginger Boyle, and Kurt Kueffner. Last year, I attended the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas and worked under Sam Villa, Chris Baran, and Kris Sorbie. I’ve also participated in Advanced Coloring and Cutting classes and especially enjoy bridal and avant garde hair styling. I’m also skilled in Japanese and Keratin Relaxing Systems. My work has been featured in local fashion shows and photo shoots. My career goals are to own a salon, become Redken Color Certified, and to be a world-renowned Platform Artist. I also aspire to work in fashion and editorial styling, television, movies, and the music industry.
I’m confident that both my passion for hair and my drive to succeed will help make me a top stylist. I enjoy making my guests feel better about their look, and I am a good listener. I can turn a simple consultation and conversation into a visual representation of my client’s style. I’ve turned my dream of becoming a hairstylist into a reality…I can do the same for your hair dreams!
