The Power of Pretty

hair

You know that feeling of confidence you get when you’ve just had your hair done? You can’t stop running your hands through it, flipping your head, as if seduced by the power of your own shiny locks.

Have you ever admired a new manicure as if it were a work of art?
Tapping your brilliantly lacquered nails, admiring the freshly found appeal of their glassy hue.

Do you relish the allure of a well placed gloss, long, dark lashes or a tawny bronzer?

That’s the power of pretty. The confidence that comes from looking your personal best and the charisma that looking lovely affords you.

It’s not about vanity; it’s about taking pride in how you look — respecting the beauty of you.

And to me, that’s no less important than respecting education, family, career and beyond.

That’s what my life and my company, PrettyCity, Inc. are all about — finding beauty in life every day.

And being damn proud of the power of pretty. Mine. And yours.

What makes you feel pretty?

Funny! I made my painter match OPI's "You don't know Jaque" to paint the exterior of my house. I also match my heels to my polish. One time it came in handy, because I nicked the heel of a pair of Serigo Rossi's and they do not make Fuscia shoe polish. Fixed them up nicely!

This is going to sound so odd, but after the shower and blowdry at the gym after a really great session on the treadmill, I feel especially strong, and especially pretty. I think because of the 'runner's high' thing, or the adrenaline running through my veins. Or, maybe it's that the hair dryers at my gym are so strong that they smooth out my frizzy hair! Also: sparkly things, definitely sparkly things.

Color, color, color!! I am a true fan of color - mine a red/orange - when that color begins to chip I patch. Once that first patch begins to peel you can not keep me from my manicurist! I MEAN THAT! It is not just how it looks but more importantly how it feels. Those little edges catching on to "stuff" drives me crazy! Nothing but nothing compares to the look of a fresh manicure - only the feel!! I shall always be hooked - the ring sounds great, too!! although I really like the look of my diamond when it is sparkling away with my fresh manicure. Ah, the simple things that bring such pleasure to our lives!

Exiting the Salon being blonder and post-blowout. Sheesh, why do all of my beauty bests start with "B"? Blond, Blowout... I have more... I think i just found the topic of my first "B"log.

I agree! Whenever I have fresh highlights, haircut or just got a manicure or pedicure there is an extra pep in my step! I think it is just feeling manicured in any way shape or form. Like when you get a car wash, you remember how beautiful your car is under all that dirt that comes off. There is something about just being fresh and clean that makes me feel ready to take on the world!

A great up do. Haven't had many in my life but have been a bridesmaid one too many times and the last few weddings - I have had some great hair. No prom curls...just really great volume. It's all about the poof!

New Lip Gloss. Without fail, I feel better when my lips shine and even better yet if they taste good, too. So make that a new flavored lip gloss.
