A Good read: Curly Like Me, by Teri LaFlesh

This is for all of the curly, wavy and kinky girls out there.

I read about author Teri La Flesh and her plight to cure her curls of damage and relaxers I had to know more. So I reached out to her and she was gracious enough to forward me her book new book. With curls like her’s I wanted to know the secrets to long healthy curly/kinky hair.

Curly Like Me (Tightlycurly.com) is a journey into what it’s like having curly hair and not knowing how to treat it. But the best part is that once Teri discovered her hair there was no more fighting with it. Often times we are so focused on getting our curls to go straight we don’t take the time to see what those curls have to offer us.

This book is a must for anyone that is a mom or dad to a curly/ kinky/ haired child. As a matter of fact I ‘d love to recommend this book to Angelina Jolie. Zahara is just the cutest and her hair should be taken care of better. Yes, I said it! But seriously the tips and insight to the girl ,now woman and her hair insecurities strike a cord in anyone whose ever felt ruled by their hairs temperament.

As for my own use I’ve been using the tips from her book for a several weeks now. My hair has grown and has improved in health , thickness and manageability. I comb out only when wet with conditioner and use little or no heat. I owe it to myself to continue this method for two more months. That being said anyone with really curly hair regardless of texture and curl pattern  could benefit from having  a copy of this book on hand; You’ll save yourself some time, effort and most importantly , hair. I’ll keep you all posted on my progress.
