Indique Hair
Hair Trends with worth trying
Every summer season brings on the excitement of summer hair styles . For ethnic women sometimes this can bring a dilemma . Should you wear your hair natural , relaxed, braids, weave or what ?
Depending on your lifestyle this could be an easy hair day everyday or lots of work
I met up with the team of welcoming women of Indique Hair , and Co-founder and Creative Director Erica Dotson at their posh hair studio in lower Manhattan. This brand is bringing excitement to the hair industry with several factors. Being one of the few only American owned hair brands and secondly co -owned by African American woman is unique and very exciting . It shows that women of color are taking control of the quality of hair offered on the market.
I was equally intrigued by all of the options available to change your look for long term or just overnight. For example ,The Glam Survival kit just introduced last week is just the thing for quick hair fixes.
For this situation, the decision to go with additions to my hair was easy. The three F’s of hair really sealed the deal :
- Frizz free
- Fun
- Functional
I chose Indique hair because it is direct from India with no middle man. It’s pure Virgin Indian Remy with hair cuticles that all run the same direction. This means for you the buyer, that your hair will never tangle, snag or dread up. Aside from the fact that ,I met them at the IBS show and they were super cool chics doing their thing!
On this day Indiue Hair’s Marketing Associate ,Yannize Joshua and I discussed transforming my look from a high maintenance natural to carefree curls for the summer. The main goal is to be able to get out of the house without spending so much time on hair.
Next, I was teamed up with Indique Pro stylist, Gabrielle Corney. Gabrielle is the stylist responsible for rapper Olivia’s (Love and Hip Hop) beautiful color. Her own hair looked so good you would never know she had additions .It was perfection.
Gabi suggested the Indique Bounce line of organic curls for a carefee look. The hair from this line has been steam permed for soft bouncy coils like an afro .or deep wave. I’m not sure but it seems this process really makes a difference in Indique Hair quality because each bundle can be used for up to a year ! How’s that for cost effectiveness?

With this super curly look you can go from the beach to the BBQ with very little fuss. The important thing to remember says Corney is to “deep condition the hair like as you would with your own.”This helps maintain moisture and keep the hair healthy.
After a few hours I went from drab to fab with a new look of bouncy curls. Now the only thing to do is care for the scalp and remember to deep condition my locks regularly.
The search for quality hair extensions has finally turned a new leaf with Indique Hair. After three weeks the hair is still soft untangled and looks big and bouncy.
Here is a peak at the organic curl texture I have. I’ll be adding more photos but you will get the idea here.
