Coachella Style Spotted : The Cut off short by Siwy

Are you lucky enough to be attending this last weekend of Coachella festivities? If so you are going to want to make sure your are comfortable and bringing your A game style.Last weekend my spies spotted summer style on two IT girls rocking Siwy cut off short in very different ways. I’ll be with you in spirit.

 

For a day time casual look model Dree Hemmingway opted for the short shorts and paired it with thigh high socks for a naughty but nice feel. With legs that long who could blame her?

While dark haired diva Ruby Aldridge when for a rocker chic at night. This is a slightly longer short that even us non models would feel comfortable in. I love the jacket as it completes the look perfectly.

Technology and The Fashionista : Eco finds and Beauty at Duane Reade LOOK

Earth day is coming up on April 22 and Fashion techies are gearing up to attend the Eco Focused Pepcom event in NYC. This year’s focus is green technology. The week will be filed with events from Windows,HTC, and more. It will be a green tech showcase not to be missed.Windows phone will host a demo event  during the same week in which editors will be able to toy around  with the latest products.

I had a chance to meet with Windows pre time and check out the new Nokia Lumia last week.

Sadly, Beautylicious will not be hand at the Eco Focus event due to conflicting policies at Pepcom this year.But as luck would have it our direct brand contacts will supply info on their latest Eco friendly products.I can’t wait to share them with you.

Tech and Beauty

Something to new to look at right now is beauty technology at none other than Duane Read LOOK Boutiques. Popping up in many stores is this a new initiative to bring unique cosmetics and beauty services to the Duane Reade consumer. Duane Reade LOOK Boutiques offer a new service called the computerized makeover  which you can use for free.

Maybelline and L”Oreal are the first brand to partner together with Duane Reade Look Boutiques on this project. A the  40 Wall Street location there is a computerized makeover center that allows customers to see what they would look like before purchasing their  chosen cosmetics from either Maybelline or L”Oreal. The Hottest finds at Haute House PR

Haute House PR has been a staple in the industry  on both coasts that I’ve grown to love visiting when they come to NYC. During their last preview event last week I  was personally escorted through by Jordan Landes-Brenman the founder.

She happily showed me around  the Haute House clients latest offerings. Here is what I found most exciting for the summer season.

Spring Nail trends to love

The explosion in nail trends is not dying down. In fact its getting more “Fierce” . Last week I attended a special event to introduce media to pop star  Avril Lavigne and check out her new nails strips line with Sally Hansen Salon Effects. Personally I can’t get enough . No drying time no mess. It’s simply genius in nail art.

As someone who’s never been a nail person I’ve been converted by all of the advances. I never liked waiting for my nails to dry and was not the neatest with the brush. But all that has changed with the  irresistible colors and patterns on the market.

Sally Hansen has been innovative with their nail trends for years .Partnering with Avril was a natural progression with her being a creative musician and a fashion influencer. Known  for skulls and  skater boys she came up with 12  limited edition looks that represent her style . Bright Colors

Sinful Colors is a new discovery to me. Sold in retailers like Duane Read for only $1.99 per bottle how can you beat it?(move over Essie)  I Love the bright colors for spring. Most recently I tried this beautiful green shade below. I was surprised how shiny and smooth it went on. Equally surprised by how long it lasted. I did have a chip for 4 days. This is unheard of as I’m not the most delicate with my hands. I’d say that this line has the potential to convert even the most anti -mani girls.

The first Tasty Tweet up with NYC Healthy Bites

Last Friday March 30th I hosted my first tweet up. Partnering with Sharon Lawrence from Garmento Lab studios we  hosted an event like no other.  The first Tasty Tweet up event .We introduced gourmet organic beef, chicken and veggie sausage  by NYC Healthy Bites  to some our favorite NYC bloggers and online editors  to explore healthy snack options.

Guest were enjoying a sampling of  the organic beef , chicken and veggie sausage while finding out about healthy snacking options. We all love our dogs and burgers why not have a better options ?  This is the question the Jankovics  asked when they came up with the idea. Currently NYC Healthy Bites can be found all over the city from 11am -7pm but following them on Twitter is the best way to know where to go for craving @nychealthybites/twitter.

It was a great night to lounge and network with fellow media people and tweet up about good food that wont break your eating plan. Our hashtag for the evening was #thetastytweetup. Vita Coco pure coconut water was our healthy beverage sponsor.They were amazing to work with and had everyone tweeting away on the story of Vita Coco’s beginnings. Popchips in many flavors circulated the room as guest were discussing their favorite NYC Healthy bite. An overwhelming amount of tasters like the Diablo. I like it too, but the German dog is also very good with the kraut and mustard.

All guest departed with a full stomach and full gift bag including the book of Essential Healthy Healing Foods by Victoria Shanta Retelny and Jovanka Joann Milivojevic. I”m looking forward to the next Tasty Tweet up!
