Kick off scent for 2012: Versace Yellow Diamond

Versace Yellow Diamond Launch

Right before the holiday I had the opportunity to head to the Versace townhouse boutique on 5th avenue for a private viewing of the new fragrance by Versace called Yellow Diamond. The incredible mansion is more inviting the further you go. On the legendary rooftop penthouse is where the action was this evening. Inspired by Donetella’s own love of the precious yellow stone and the evolution of chrstals, the scent is an intoxicating juicy floral. Hints of amber ,citron,and orange blossom blend beautifully. It launches officially in January but it was available at selected shops for the holiday season . The yellow and gold packaging and commercial concept is all a reflection of Donnatellas vision . see the video here  One thing is for sure , it smells simply amazing and so will you.

NYFW / downtime at Victoria’s Secret beauty lounge

I love September fashion week.The weather is perfect to dress in almost anything and everyone looks great after completing their summer vacations. But every fashion and beauty reporter looks forward to some downtime after running from show to backstage from the meatpacking district to Lincoln center. So what better way to relieve a little stress then heading over to an editors lounge for a bit of R&R

At the Victoria’s secret rooftop retreat ( empire hotel rooftop) guest were pampered as only VS can.Oasis day spa provided chair massages that were perfect for achy shoulders. Victoria’s Secret make up team  was on hand for make overs as well.

S by Shakira Launches The Month

Our favorite hip shaking South American, Shakira launched S By Shakira Eau de Florale this month. S is a light floral with sweet and succulent  hints of berries  and musky vanilla. And the floral blend lasts leaving a nice top note of sweet berries. S would make a flirty addition to your fall/ winter scent library.

When Shakira was asked about her influences for fragrance she was very open about her process.
“After working on S by Shakira with the perfumer, I became interested in the possibilities of expressing emotions through scents.” Says Shakira “It’s similar to the process you go through when writing a melody: certain chord combinations inspire different feelings in the listener….You could say that S by Shakira Eau Florale reflects my more delicate and feminine side. It could be for a different moment, or a different mood. Perhaps, for when you’re feeling romantic!’
