What would I do with out my delightful digits from OPI? Probably, walk the plank! Luckily, I will never have to find out ’cause they keep pumping out polish faster than I can say, “Paraffin please!” This time we are getting down and dirty I mean pretty and pastelly??? Blimey! Whatev’s it’s almost spring and whether it makes sense or not these Pirates are in pastel. OPI has released their Summer 2011 collection named “Ahoy Me Hearties” (A tie in to the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie) and the always cheeky names are, Skull and Glossbones, Steady as She Rose, Sparrow Me the Drama, Planks A lot, Stranger Tides, and Mermaids Tears. The entire collection is literally topped off with Silver Shatter, which means shatter is here to stay… at least until Summer.

( from top to bottom-Right side)Skull and Glossbones: grungy Grey-green. Steady As She Rose: Pink cream, very natural. Sparrow me The Drama: bright creme pink. Planks A Lot: Lilac. Strange Tides: murky army green. Mermaids Tears: mint creme. The Left side is the aforementioned + Silver Shatter!
Just like the majority of OPI’s collections I am sure this one will be loved by all, and come May 2011 women everywhere will be begging for this booty!! My guess is the majority favorite will be Sparrow Me the Drama, but the cult favorite will be Strange Tides!

Unless you are four years old chipped nail polish is a no, no. I remember back in college going sans Lacquer as I didn’t want to deal with touching up my nails everyday due to work, school, and recreational fun. Now, as a full blown adult? Nothing has changed. I still do not want to paint my nails everyday, but I just die a little inside every time I catch one of my co-workers glancing at my chipped nails. I envision them thinking “what is she four?” Well, no more! If you are a diva like myself that loves looking lux, but hates high maintenance hottness then you should Shellac! Shellac is a new product from CND ( creative Nail Design) these nail wizards have developed a Hybrid of nail polish and gel that promises not to smudge, chip, crack, or do anything else that causes drama to our look for fourteen days! WE LOVE!!
Shellac paints on like polish – base coat, color, top coat – and is cured in a UV light so there is zero dry time. The colors are hypo-allergenic, and “3-Free” – no formaldehyde, toluene or DBP. Shellac will launch in a range of 12 varieties of shades, from pretty French pinks and whites, to siren red and rich darks. The formula is thin and flexible like polish, so it not only looks natural, it provides strong natural nail protection with a resilient mirror finish that resists dullness and chipping, even during the most rigorous activities.
Shellac is not DIY… or is it? Well it’s not, but DIY Diva’s can’t be stopped they are doing it anyways! Go get ‘em girlie’s!! Shellac is preferably applied by a salon professional, but can be found by anyone with the Internet
If you are ready to take the plunge into perfect nails then find a Shellac’ing sista in your area or give it a whirl yourself and hit up Ebay. (I do not recommend this, but I would never do an at home hair die. However,I do know a lot of woman that do DIY die and it’s great.. so what do I know?!?!) Anyways, this is blow out and I know you are going to love it no matter how you get it!

Totally Cheap Tuesday!!
This Tuesday we are giving you a Passport to Paradise! Well sort of… L’Oreal has a beautiful “Passport to Paradise” collection out for Summer 2010 and it is a must! The collection is complete with bronzers, lip gloss, & eye shadow, but I have my eye on the nail polish! Three new limited edition nail colors were introduced with this collection and they are so cute!

High Tide, Ocean Breeze, & Waters Edge
High Tide, a smokey blue with a hint of shimmer, is fresh and understated, Ocean Breeze, a bright blue, is perfect for toes or a night on the town, and Waters Edge, a bright aquamarine, is electric and sure to stand out against tan skin! I was instantly drawn to the colors in this collection they are great for summer and just looking at them invoked the “hot summer day” feeling. L’Oreal’s Passport to Paradise collection is a great way to look hot without burning your savings!

Without a doubt Summer 2010 is turning out to be a gala of glitter from Eyeliners to lipglosses, t-Shirts to toe nails get ready for glam! In all honesty, I totally love glitter. The flash, sparkle, and shine totally consumes me. Sometimes I wonder if in a past life I was a Magpie, but I don’t really like birds so I am hoping there is another explanation. However, back to the task at hand, literally! This summer a great way to go glitter without going overboard is a mani’ or pedi’ and you are going to love the choices!

Butter London have fabulous natural glitters. West End Wonderland (shown above) available May 2010, Henley Regatta a beautiful Teal, and Rosie Lee a poppy pink are a luxurious way to glitter. You can find this beautiful brand at the super luxurious NuboNau Boutique!

Zoya's Sparkle Collection is an affordable way to try out this trend. Pictured here in Gilda ( I love pink on my toes), Charla a beautiful blue, Ivanka glittery green, and mimi a pizazz of purple are the shades I am swooning over!

Chanel has a beautiful glitter gold color from the limited edition Paris Shanghai collection aptly named Illusion D Or. This uber lux shade will make a stunning statement that you are a girl of the now!

Chanel is really giving us the goods lately! Just a couple weeks before introducing some pretty, poppy, beautiful, brights for summer 2010 to
Chanel counters, (which I absolutely love!!!! I mean these colors scream summer and make me scream,”Gimme that Aquamarine!”)

We get a peek at the Noir et Or Paris Shanghai Collection! A super glamorous collection inspired by the Orient. This collection is a sophisticated study of light and dark that juxtaposes shiny and matte finishes, which is meant to convey Coco Chanel’s perception of Shanghai in the 1930′s & 40′s.

Included in the collection are some stellar pieces. Le Vernis Nail Color in Black Velvet, a matte black polish that’ll make a great tip for reverse French manicures (shown above), Le Vernis Nail Colour in Gold Lame, a satiny gold, and Ligne et Ombre de Chanel in Jet-Gold will be stand-out in the spring sun along with an eye compact containing a matte black eye liner and sparkling gold shadow.
The summer 2010 pop bright beauty is available in late April, but be warned these colors will go fast so if you must have one call your local Chanel counter today and ask to put your favorite on hold. The waitlist for The Noir Et Or Paris-Shanghai Collection starts Wednesday and is available only at Chanel.com, Chanel Boutiques and Chanel Makeup Studios.

I had the pleasure of attending a fabulous after work event at the ultra swank Whiskey Bar, recently voted best place to “see and be seen”. The lovely ladies from Glow Salon and Spa extended the invite for Martini’s and Mani’s. I think I just blacked out… have these beauty vixen’s been reading my diary? I entered Whiskey Bar, which is an atmosphere of luxury and relaxation located in the heart of Milwaukee’s hottest evening scene, Cathedral Square. I signed up for my Mani’ and then hit the bar. However, these beauty babes don’t just imbibe on any old Martini they order their signature “Glowtini”. This delicious concoction contains dragon fruit and a secret ingredient, which I believe gives you glowing skin ’cause all of these ladies were flawless!

"Glowtini"
The evening was buzzing with friends, co-workers, and savvy singles laughing and relaxing. Many of the women I spoke with thought this was a fabulous idea and were very excited to attend. Another group of woman said they would definitely go to Glow in the future, since this was such a relaxing and fun event and I couldn’t agree more, ladies!

We are excited to get our digits done!
After a very short wait I sat down with Rachel a very fashionable, friendly, and fabulous Glow girl and picked out my OPI color, Miami Beet. Rachel was very sweet and did a fabulous job on my nails I would absolutely recommend her for future services.

Love the shine

Beautiful nails for free! I die!
I truly felt pampered and enjoyed the event immensly! Thank you to Glow Salon & Spa and The Whiskey Bar for providing the ladies of Milwaukee a fantastic event! I hope to attend more in the future and until then thank you for the fabulous evening!

I had two!

I love the idea of natural make-up, but I must admit that sometimes I think it is boring. I like sparkles and flashy packages, make-up that is a little more bionic than organic! I love nail polish. It is a great way to change up my look, I love all the colors, and I can pretty much run the gamut, since even designer brands are usually never more than twenty-five dollars. Chanel and couture could arguably be the best duo in the universe, but what about Pastels and Metallics? Early last week Karl & Co. turned out a fantastic look at Chanel’s Spring/Summer Haute Couture Show in Paris that has really revived me from my winter funk, and got me thinking futuristic sweetheart!
The models wore Chanel Rouge Allure – in Genial, an unreleased shade on the lips, but word on the catwalk is that it will be available April/May.

The liquid Silver nail is the revived Chanel Duo Platinum Silver, which was only available in the UK when it launched in 2007. Could we see a flashback to the future with a re-release this Summer?
A new eyeshadow duo called Ombres Contraste Duo in Gris-Subtil made it’s debut as well. Officially, the 2010 launch date’s unknown, but the rumor mill is working overtime and it might be hitting shelves in April, be prepared for it’s fabulousness.
Karl gave Peter Philips, the Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, three key images to inspire the makeup for the show: neon baroque, chemical pastels and liquid silver. I am in love!
