Brandi Glanville is certainly shaking things up in the 90210 as the latest addition to the uber-popular reality series. The former international model and mother of two boys answers the questions fans are dying to know about how she stays looking so great!
Q. Your figure was the topic of conversation this past season on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. You have a knock out figure that most 20 year old girls would die for. How do you keep in shape?
A. Well, thank you for the compliment. With each 5 years, I seem to gain an extra 5 pounds. My mom always says that at some point in our lives, we women have to choose between our faces and our butts. Until then, I will continue to work out weekly with my trainer of nine years. Her name is Amanda Gold and she really challenges me. I also do Pilates. Another trick is that I rarely take the elevator, I usually take the stairs for a great workout. I was also born with good genes.
Q. Are there certain types of foods that you avoid and are there other types of foods that you favor to help you stay fit and trim?
A. I thank God that I do not have a real sweet tooth. In general, I avoid desserts. Sometimes I will eat pasta and indulge in bread with butter but then again, I am skipping the dessert. On the rare occasions that I decide to have dessert, I will usually just order a salad for my entree. I also tend to eat slow, because when I do, I feel fuller faster and I tend to eat less.
Q. You used to be a successful model before getting married and having children. Would you ever consider going back to modeling if the opportunity came up?
A. I modeled for more than 15 years. I was able to see the world and meet amazing people. The one negative thing about modeling was that it taught me about rejection based solely on my physical appearance and it can really make you become insecure about your looks. If the right opportunity came along, I would certainly consider modeling again.
Q. If we looked into your purse right now…What are the most important things that you carry with you everywhere you go?
A. If you looked into my purse right now you would find my Blackberry. I call it the adult pacifier. You would also find hand sanitizer, lip balm, sunscreen and sunglasses.
Q. You have such a flawless complexion. What is your favorite skin care line and why? What is your must have cosmetics that you can never get ready without?
A. I actually have to work very hard on my skin. I battle with adult acne and melasma. I use a lot of the Epicurean line and also EMK products. I’ve used Retin-A since I was in my early 20s and I really think that is why my skin has held up as well as it has. My must-have cosmetic is blush! I don’t have a lot of natural color in my skin so this is a must. I have 3 favorites…Bobbie Brown in apricot and pale pink and Stila in coral.
Q. Your hair is so shiny and golden. What products do you use to keep your hair looking fabulous?
A. For my hair, I am pretty low maintenance. I get highlights every 8 weeks and I use Pantene Moisture Intense Shampoo and Conditioner. I do a deep conditioning treatment every other week with Kerastas Masque Intense.
Q. What advice would you give to women who were in long term relationships and suddenly find themselves single again?
A. The best piece of advice I could give to a woman coming out of a long term relationship is to get back out there as soon as you can. Remember that time will heal all wounds but the world does not stop for a broken heart. The only thing that happens by sitting around feeling sorry for yourself is that you waste precious time and you seem to get older faster. Make plans with your friends! Try internet dating! Do whatever you can to avoid staying home and sulking. Remember that you are an amazing catch and love is out there for you again!
